SouthPointe Church is the name of our church. While the name SouthPointe was our choice in defining who we are, "Church" was mandated by God Himself, as revealed in His Word. The name "Church" is God's name for the assembly of people who have been called out by His name. As a result, our future as a church has been charted by God, our destiny has been planned by God, and our mission has been defined by God.

Passion Driven: We believe that every church is driven by something. Some churches are driven by tradition, personalities, finances, programs, events, purposes, and even potential visitors. At SouthPointe, we believe that churches should be driven by "Passion" rather than by any other force. Simply stated, for us, that passion is to see and experience on a daily basis the absolute glory of God through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We understand that for our church to be healthy, strong, and effective, we must be more passionate about God and His honor, glory, and fame than we are about anything else.

A Firm Foundation: With this in mind, we believe it is vitally important to build anything of value upon a solid foundation. The Apostle Paul said that God would judge whatever we build on the basis of whether it would last (see 1 Corinthians 3:13, 14). Paul also tells us that the key to building something that will last is to build it on the right foundation (see 1 Corinthians 3:10,11). We honestly and humbly believe that SouthPointe Church is built on that foundation.

A New Testament Church: SouthPointe Church is a local, visible, New Testament Church whose membership is made up of Christians who have been scripturally baptized, whose lives have been radically changed by the grace and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our core beliefs concerning the church is based on the founding of the church in the Book of Acts. We are reformed in our theology and beliefs, charismatic in our affections, and culturally relevant to the times in our practices.

Our Purpose: We deeply desire to help others find the same joy, happiness, and pleasure that we have found in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Vision: As a church, we want to be a Biblically functioning community of believers, existing in a covenant relationship with God and each other; a place where all the components can work together in harmony in order to become a force in the world rather than a farce.

Our Commitments: We believe there are two great commitments in the Bible that are non-negotiables for a Bible church. These basic commitments are first and foremost in everything we do as a church.
       (1) A "Great Commitment" to the "Great Commandment". "... thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy
            soul, and with all thy mind...". (Matthew 22:26-40)
       (2) "A Great Commitment" to the "Great Commission". "...go ye therefore, and teach all nations, teaching them to observe all things
             whatsoever I have commanded you...".

Our Passions: Since we are a "Passion Driven Church", we are passionate about...
        (1) Knowing, savoring, glorifying, valuing, and exalting God.
        (2) The Lord's Church.
        (3) The Word of God.
        (4) The teaching and preaching of the Word of God.
        (5) God-centered worship
        (6) Confronting and challenging culture with truth.
        (7) Passing on our faith to the next generation.
        (8) Leading people to a personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
        (9) Building quality, lasting relationships that will help strengthen our faith.
       (10) Becoming a church known for its reliance upon God through prayer.
